Arriving in Queenstown
After finishing up the Milford Track a week and a half ago, we set off towards Queenstown – perhaps best known as the adventure sports haven of NZ, but also super scenic in its own right. It sits among at least three different awesome mountain ranges and is nestled right next to Lake Wakatipu. So needless to say perhaps, the drive towards town along the lakeside was pretty awesome. We quite happily stopped many, many times to take photos.
Because the weather was so nice when we pulled into town, we figured we’d take advantage by heading up the gondola for the up top view. Fun fact – Jelly Belly is a big sponsor of some part of the complex at the top of the gondola, so there was a jelly bean store, jelly bean art on the wall, and a person-sized jelly bean that you could take a photo next to. There was also a kiwi souvenir shop, and a cafe with awesome views where we got scenic beers!
I don’t really know how you’re going to top that scenic beer. #ishouldhaveagreatsuggestionherebutidon’t
