Autumning at Eccles Pass
We wanted to get out hiking while Jill was visiting in late September, and in particular see if we could find a bit of fall color still sticking around here or there. Jeff & Michelle recommended Eccles Pass as a good option. The trail ascends fairly steeply to start, passes by the fork off to Lilypad Lake (also recommended) and then rounds off into an alpine meadowy landscape. After traversing across the meadow, you climb the wall at the far end to reach the pass. Apart from being a little windy at the top, the whole day was super pleasant and pretty.
This gallery has a couple extra bonus photos from the Marshall Mesa trail, where we had another outing the following day.
