Cape Reinga

We were told by several Kiwis that Cape Reinga at the very top of the North Island was well worth the trip, so we drove all the way north on Highway 1 (did we somehow end up back in California?) to check it out. The Cape is not quite the northernmost point of the country, but it is the point where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific meet, and it’s also the point where Maori believe the spirits leave the country to head back towards their homeland, Hawaiki.
