Feeling at Home in Lucerne
Ok, so we accidentally let more than a year go by without finishing up the second half of our Switzerland trip. Oops! I guess we’ve been busy? The next few posts might be a little lacking in detailed descriptions, but the photos haven’t faded ;)
When we left Interlaken, we drove towards Lucerne, where we were meeting up with Claire! On the way, we thought we’d stop and see Aare Gorge, which ended up being more of an outing than we thought, with a beautiful hike down in the gorge along the river.
The rest of the drive to Lucerne was also beautiful, but Lucerne itself was picture perfect. Claire was our expert local guide; she showed us fun spots around the city, introduced us to some of her friends, and took us hiking around a couple of different mountains, including Lucerne’s “home” mountain, Mt. Pilatus. We stayed with Claire and ate some meals at her place, which was a lovely break from all the restaurant meals we’d been having. She introduced us to cashew butter! :)
After just a couple of days in Lucerne, it was time for the three of us to head south together towards the Italian region of Switzerland, Ticino.
Very nice!! All the views are A++. The gorge looks super cool!
