Finishing up in Auckland

The last stop on our amazing, wonderful trip was Auckland, in order to catch our return flight to SF. We were there for a couple of days and spent a portion of the time shopping for our last minute souvenirs and selling our car. But we made sure to get up to the top of the Sky Tower for some beautiful panoramas of the city and bay, to eat some great food, and to join in a summer street festival. Somehow it didn’t feel like our trip was ending because we had seen so many new things in the past week and being in the city didn’t really even still feel like part of our NZ experience. Heading home to SF was both exciting (so looking forward to lots of cooking in our own kitchen and seeing all our family and friends) and sad/nostalgic. We are definitely going to miss New Zealand; we had an incredible adventure and are so grateful to have spent 3 months exploring. We’ve got a long list of things we wanted to see or do but didn’t quite fit in, so we may have to plan a future trip to revisit!
