Reminiscing about our buddy Wyatt
As we wrap up our trip, we are of course having to say goodbye to our trusty steed, Wyatt, who has stood by us through much of our time in New Zealand. As we were putting together some of his stats so that we could find him a new family, we also remembered some not so useful stats that indicate what great times we had together over the last three months.
- Kilometers driven: 9,345 (that’s 5,807 miles)
- Number of times we filled up the petrol tank: 22
- Approximate number of 1 way bridges crossed: between 100 and 150 (we didn’t keep count)
- Number of times the car key went through the wash: 1
- Number of times we called AA (NZ’s AAA): 1
- Number of Wyatt pictures published on our blog: 16
- Approximate number of pictures on our blog taken through a Wyatt window: Scott says ’67 (+/- 30)’. Elisse says ‘non negligible’.
- Number of creek crossings Wyatt completed: 10
- Wyatt’s license plate as a pneumonic: actually wyatt quits (at) 8:06
- Wyatt’s license plate converted from hexatridecimal to decimal: 659632902 (please blame Scott for this one)
- Parking tickets: 0 (woo!)
- Speeding tickets: 0 (woo!)
- Non-traditional roles Wyatt fulfilled: pantry, closet, wine cellar, safe, rain shelter, bug shield, scapegoat, windbreak, changing room, clothesline, bird attractor, phone battery…
I actually just keened with sadness when I saw your photo in my email. #truestory #youcanaskmax
