Stopping by Oamaru

We had a bit of a long driving day from Dunedin up to Christchurch on New Year’s Eve, and we were looking for points of interest to stop at along the way. We discovered that one of NZ’s cheese companies was located on our route in the town of Oamaru, and we were excited to make a stop there to try some cheeses. As we were reading their cheese booklet, we noticed that they did a collaboration with a local brewery, “Scott’s Brewery”, and we knew it was a sign we needed to check it out. We ended up finding a lovely little historical section of Oamaru with charming shops and an interesting steampunk theme. We had a great time wandering around and would have loved to stay more than just a couple of hours! Maybe we’ll come back sometime for an overnight :)
