Sunny Summer hiking at Lake Isabelle

I think we saw an article like ‘Top Lake Hikes in CO’ last year that prompted this outing. Even if I’m not remembering that right, I’m sure Isabelle would be on it.

For this one, you drive to the Lake Brainard parking lot and head out from there. You quickly enter the Indian Peaks wilderness and leave all the concrete behind. You pass by the very lovely but boringly named “Long Lake” en route. Lake Isabelle is tucked within a half circle of steep slopes up to fun ridge lines – very scenic. Sometime we’d like to return and head up Pawnee Pass to Crater Lake and Lone Eagle Peak. Maybe 2021?
